Dental hygienist

With the dental hygienist you receive preventive dental care based on your needs — for example tartar removal and professional tooth cleaning. A visit normally takes 60–70 minutes.

Why isn't brushing enough?

Plaque can harden into tartar. Tartar is firmly attached and cannot be brushed off at home — it needs to be removed by a dental hygienist or dentist using professional instruments.

What happens during the visit?

• Review of your oral health and habits
• Removal of tartar and stains
• Professional cleaning and polishing
• Individual advice on brushing technique, interdental brushes and fluoride

If the hygienist finds something that needs a dentist's assessment, a follow-up visit is booked — for more extensive treatment needs we always offer another visit at an unhurried pace.
