Children's & young people's dental care
1,900 children and young adults in Älmhult, Ljungby and Alvesta are registered with Tandvårdshuset i Älmhult. Children and young people receive dental care free of charge until the end of the year they turn 19.
Register your child with us
Registering your child is easy: use the registration form or contact your nearest clinic and we will help you with registration. A parent or guardian then visits the clinic and signs the form Transfer of dental care responsibility for children and young people (PDF, in Swedish) — you are welcome to fill it in beforehand and bring it along. The child is then invited for regular check-ups — free of charge.
What happens at the child's visit?
- Examination at the child's pace — the first visits are largely about building trust
- Check of tooth eruption, bite and oral hygiene
- Fluoride treatment and advice adapted to age
From 1 January of the year you turn 20 you pay for your dental care as an adult and can then use the state dental care allowance — see Prices.
